Twitter background for whimsignia

It took me sometime before I could finally understand the scope that twitter offered. Not only as a marketing tool, it also has a spot for designers who can show their skills by designing customized backgrounds. My only complain is that there is no option for aligning the background. Twitter by default, aligns the background image as top left. I do hope the team behind twitter has already recieved suggestions regarding this particular concern and are already working on it. Many designers are going to be reallllly happy when twitter comes up with an option for background image allignment. You can check out my twitter background at http://twitter.com/whimsignia

Turn Turn Turn has always been one of my top favorite songs. A song adapted from the Book of Ecclesiastes. This is how I believe my life has always been. There has always been a time for everything and when things happen at the correct time they sure do happen well :) I am sure 2010 is going to be more eventful than 2009 for me especially since I have started my blog.
Well for the design part that I intend my blog to cater to I am starting with a simple January 2010 wallpaper. There is no inspiration or any kind of amazing design philosophy behind it, its just a simple wallpaper …. :)

Today the magazine named “IK” – an exclusive magazine for the women of Suriname was launched. I am happy I had the opportunity to design the logo and the front cover of the magazine. The whole experience was thrilling and no doubt the core team involved worked a lotttttt towards achieving this goal. I am quite sure that this magazine will catch up with the people of Suriname. I hope to work more on typographic layouts via IK …. :)

SALSURI 2009 :: white beach latin party

The Beach – The Dance – The Music
There was no other way that my weekend could have been so exhilarating. The day started with me as usually awakening in my zombie mode, and I had already decided that I was going to spend the day sitting in front of my laptop , eating popcorn, playing games and watching movies. When I was about to settle down after wrapping my hair in loads of coconut oil, my friend pooh (who is usually the most unorganized person in the group but is an expert in making the best outing plans out of nothing) calls up and says to be ready in 45 minutes. I think for the next three hours, which comprised of reaching her house and going to the beach and settling down to see people dancing ….. I was still sleeping.
Let me say something about SALSURI here. SALSURI is a Salsa festival which has been held in Suriname every year for the past five years. The festival lasts for four to five days and it comprises of parties, live band shows, showcases and workshops. Today was the last day and it was the WHITE BEACH LATIN PARTY. The Dj played everything from Salsa, Bachata, Reggaeton, ChaChaCha, Zouk, Kizombo, Meringue and even Disco. The workshops were great and the crowd was definitely HOTTTT !!!
I guess we all danced for few hours attended the afro cuban dance workshop and then went about to relax in the cool beach. As usual i was jumping in the water ( i have no idea why i like doing that probably because i dont know how to swim). After two hours of playing dolphin, whale and shark I was back again on the dance floor with my friends. Again danced for few more hours and by the time it was 8 pm i knew that tomorrow climbing up the stairs to office will be like Mission Impossible.

Its after an extremely long period of procrastination that I have finally written the first post of my blog. I only hope that I hope to keep up a pace of one post per month :) . I am not intending my blog to be catering to a specific subject, it would probably have everything from design to psychology, some crazy tit bits and the various weird happenings of my blessed life.
